Where to start???

The world of internet use is fraught with danger and yet a wonderful and enlightening place to play, work and learn.
Many times, my children have asked me “Dad what does so-and-so mean or how does a thing-a-me-bob work?” and unsure of the answer said “Dunno, lets search the web…”

Subsequently from Google © or Yahoo © or one of the many other web search engines or answer sites we have gathered much (sometimes too much) information about the topic of interest.
Along the way, I have found myself at undesirable or unexpected websites that aren’t what they appear to be or are just plain nasty or of an adult nature not suited to children or those of the faint or modest heart.

It is in those instances you are liable to collect the detritus of the web, commonly known as “malware” - viruses, spyware, and adware.

Welcome to the wonderful and sometimes confusing world of PC use.

Whether you are a new user, or a seasoned veteren, there are so many aspects to computer use that there is always something new to learn.

From photo and video editing to document and spreadsheet creation, emailing, web browsing and much much more, the world of pc use in the home is expanding at an exponential rate.

If you go about the process of learning to use your pc in an organised and disciplined way, the outcomes of your experience will be far more satisfying that by diving in and learning by the "seat of your trousers" (a method many people are forced to use because they don't have the correct material or advice to help them get started the right way).
