TAKAPAU WATER SUPPLY - Yet more trouble.

BOIL YOUR WATER  until further notice.!  Why are we not supprised?.  It is many months now since council reps at a water-supply meeting with the public at Takapau were indignant and vocal when this blogger pointed out council's failures to give us a decent potable water-supply.  By council's own admissions, they were persevering with a bore which when the recent 'improvements' were installed  was already well  beyond its use-by date.  Will we be supprised when we are told we now need a new bore?    Hell no!!  Perhaps it is not the bore this time?  But we are heartily sick of the back to front way in which council deals with our water-supply.  A good bore with many years of function remaining was always what was needed before all of the expensive filter-systems were set up.   Foundation, then the building, not the other way around.

Whatever the cause of the pump failure, it is lucky that we have a good standby-pump located in the shed at the Takapau reservoir.  But No!  This blogger raised  concerns of several Takapau residents  that the standby pump had been removed from its shed,  and council could not tell us what had become of it.  Because the pump was a capital asset for the Takapau scheme, it  belongs to Takapau. Council was to look into the dissapearance, but that was many months ago. Perhaps this will jog their memory.  A good investigative report by our own CHB Mail would truely be a service to the local people.
